EXHIBITION:

natural forests

An exhibition of photographs from Australia’s wilderness by reknown Australian Photographers.

As part of the celebrations and awareness campaign marking UN International Year of the Forests 2011, South East Region Conservation Alliance (SERCA) in conjunction with representatives of regional arts and community groups, is planning a travelling photographic exhibition "Natural Forests" of photos from Australia’s wilderness coast to highlight the beauty and value of our southeast Forests surrounding Eden NSW, from the mountains to the coast, from South East NSW to East Gippsland. SERCA believes in protecting the native forests for their beauty and for their unique carbon storage capacity. SERCA rejects that they are being logged for woodchips.

It will be opened in the Bermagui Community Centre on Thursday June 9, 2011 at 6pm by Andrew Sayers AO and include a special musical performance for the forests by Geoffry Badger and the Forest Choir. It will run through until Monday June 13. The show will then travel to Canberra, Sydney, Canberra and Bodalla, NSW; later to Victoria with the prospect of an overseas show.

This exhibition will feature fine art photographers Rob Blakers, Judith Deland, Richard Green, Gordon Undy, Heide Smith, John Reid and Wesley Stacey. These photographers participated in a weekend Photographers' Camp at Ngarian, Tanja, NSW, to take photographs especially for the exhibition.
